About Us

We remember and record Rai Bahadur Ram Garib Lal Ji as founder of national educational society, the mission of which was “Education” under the leadership of visionary people of that time.

The glorious history of national educational society made by various educational institutions presently running in single campus covering more than 15 acres of land. The developmental stages are from Gorakhpur High school and extending up to Mahatma Gandhi Post Graduate College Gorakhpur. In between the two ends we run Mahatma Gandhi Inter College, Ram Narain Lal Girls Inter College, Praksah Narain Institute of computer technology and national hostel of students. Every college has its own year of establishment with the passage of time.

The Mahatma Gandhi Post Graduate College, Gorakhpur has its glorious history of 53 years as it was established in the year 1969 on the birth centenary of Mahatma Gandhi by the visionary people of national educational society and it was affiliated to Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur as Mahatma Gandhi Degree College. With the progress of time the college has attended various heights in the form of addition of post graduate classes in various science subjects off course in self finance scheme of U.P government.

Thus we have under graduate faculties in various science subjects as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Botany and Physical Education under grant in aid provision and post graduate departments in science subjects such as Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Zoology and Botany under self finance provision. In addition to this we have also under graduate courses in self finance scheme such as B.Com (full course), Industrial Chemistry, Computer Application, Home Science, Psychology, Electronics etc are running as self finance courses duly approved by Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur.

The society is constantly encouraging the management of various institutions to generate the new courses having job oriented prospects.

In addition to best teaching method provided by duly qualified faculties, most of the teachers are involved in research activities which is recognized by their publications in various journals of national and international repute and research grants awarded to these researchers by UGC, DST, DBT, CSIR and UPCST. Due to this quality the college is accredited by NAAC with “B” grade and continuously putting efforts to improve its gradation by the UGC (NAAC).
